Star Wars Rebels

Posted on: September 28, 2014

With the Rebels movie premiering this Friday, October 3rd on The Disney Channel, they’ve also been playing little shorts to introduce us to the characters of the series.  I’ve seen quite a bit of merchandise out lately, so let’s take a look:

First we have the bags that come with the Subway kid’s meal.  When I went they just had the Sabine one.  Each bag comes with a card of the character.

I GEEK DISNEY: Winter comes early on “Once Upon a Time” as the Frozen characters premiere

Posted on: September 28, 2014

At the end of last season we were surprised to see Elsa turn up in Once Upon a Time.  Now, tonight we’ll see just what the folks from Frozen will be doing.  I was in the Disney Store this weekend and while buying Tsum Tsum’s with my wife, we saw a little bucket with buttons of Elsa.  It was a promotional button for the new season of Once Upon a Time.  The Cast Member at the register didn’t even mention them, so my wife asked if they were for sale.  Turns out, they were free, and they told us to take some.  The bucket was full so we took a few.

Perhaps after the new episode these will begin to disappear from Disney Stores, but here was a cool Disney Frozen inspired collectible that they weren’t even mentioning. Be sure to visit your local Disney Store before these buttons disappear.

Geek Disney: more Disney/ Star Wars “mash-up’s”

Posted on: September 27, 2014

I saw this play set while on vacation.  Based off the scene in Return of the Jedi it makes for a pretty decent play set, but I don’t really like Pete as Boba Fett.

Funko’s POP! Who Framed Roger Rabbit?

Posted on: September 25, 2014

Continuing with our look at Funko products, today we take a look at the 1988 movie Who Framed Roger Rabbit? POP! figures from Funko.

Judge Doom (his eyes are just as creepy looking in the doll as in the movie)

I do wish they made an Eddie Valiant POP!

When the movie was released the toy line released was just some bendy toys, nothing exciting.  Here’s hoping Funko will make a Who Framed Roger Rabbit? line of ReAction figures.

Universal Studios Marvel Comics T-shirt

Posted on: September 23, 2014

While Disney owns Marvel Comics, their purchase of the “House of Ideas” came too many years too late since Universal Studios struck a deal to have the Marvel heroes in there Islands of Adventure Theme Park in Marvel Island indefinitely.  Flying to Orlando International Airport, you’ll find two Universal Studios stores, which is where I found this cool Marvel t-shirt.

Funko ReAction Figures – The Goonies

Posted on: September 22, 2014

Back when The Goonies was released in 1985 there were no toys to go along with the movie.  No action figures of Mikey, Data, Chunk or Mouth.  Not even a pirate ship play set.  It would have been cool if they did make these.  Thankfully, Funko has released a set of ReAction figures for the Goonies.
