As The Lone Ranger continues to gallop towards his July release (gallop, get it?), I thought I would take a moment to post some pictures of some of the toys I’ve seen. In an earlier blog titled Mr. Nostalgia presents…”Hi-Yo Silver, AWAY!” | Toy Lines, I mentioned that The Disney Store was selling a Deluxe 12 inch figure of The Lone Ranger and a 10 1/2 Silver horse doll to go along with it. Well, below are pictures of these toys:
If you press Silver’s head down he makes galloping noises as well as horse sounds.
Still no word if Disney is making a Tonto and his horse deluxe figures (I wonder if they will go with his horses name as Scout?), but I sure hope they do.
My wife told me that The Disney Store got the Tonto 12 inch Deluxe figure in. She happened to see it today. I’ll do my best to get a picture of it as soon as I can.
This movie promises, thanks to Johnny Depp, to have Tonto not be the sidekick who saddles The Lone Rangers horse, but an equal to the Lone Ranger, which really hasn’t been done before .
Finally, my wife bought me these Friday as a surprise (isn’t she the best? I think so). We call them “Mickey Ears” and basically they are little Mickey’s that are either painted to look like other Disney characters, to be Star Wars or Muppet characters, or they pay artists to design them in strange ways.
I just love how they look and the attention to detail they gave Tonto’s face, as wll as giving him his crow headdress. All these toys can be found currently at The Disney Store.
Also, the official Disney website Disney.com | The official Home Page for all things Disney has a new short video about training the horses that play Silver in the movie. All you need to do is click on the link above, click on Video then type The Lone Ranger in the Search Window.
Anyway, that’s all for now.
Until next time,
