I’ve said before that there are very few non-Disney/Pixar films that I like, the list is pretty short actually, but one of my favorite non-Disney/Pixar films is How to Train Your Dragon released by Dreamworks in 2010. This film really struck a cord in me, especially the scenes between Hiccup and his father Stoic. In 2012, on Cartoon Network, Dragons: Riders of Berk began, and though not all the original voice cast returned for the series, I enjoyed the few episodes I saw and plan on getting the series on DVD at some point. On June 20th, 2014, How to Train Your Dragon 2 comes to theatres, and just from the trailer I’m so excited to see this movie. It takes place about 5 years after the first one, so I imagine Riders of Berk is the bridge between these two films, as well as the released to DVD shorts Dragon: Gift of the Night Fury that came out in 2011 with the original voice cast and Book of Dragons, also with original voice cast and released in 2011.

More to come on How to Train Your Dragon in the future, I promise you.
