Super 7’s Dark Despot Skeletor is based on the William Stout designs for the 1987 Masters of the Universe movie. All the figures in this collections keep getting better and better and Skeletor just set the bar to a whole new level even compared to Classics’ figures.
Skeletor comes in the standard blister card packaging. On the back is new artwork by Axel Jimenez and a new bio for Skeletor.
The sculpt and details on this figure are phenomenal, the Four Horsemen design studio has outdone themselves. The figure is solid and the joints are tight. The hood and cape are amazing, better than any other Skeletor.
I love the skulls on his suit and the wrist gauntlets are very cool and eye catching.
The paint is nice and clean, there is nothing wrong with this figure.
The armor is extremely detailed but does not interfere with articulation.
The figure has standard articulation in the head, shoulders, elbows, ab crunch, wrists, waist, thighs, knees and feet.
I understand that actor Frank Langella had a white mask on his face to portray Skeletor but it seems to work on this figure. I would have love to see a head without the eyes but this face works on this figure. The hood is not removable so no, we cannot see the final falling head shot, but the sculpt of the hood is so perfect I don’t even mind it.
I love the realism on this Skeletor and it is something that we have never seen on a Skeletor figure before.
Skeletor comes with the following accessories: Havok staff, Sword and cosmic key.
All accessories are nicely detailed especially the cosmic key.
This is without a doubt my favorite Skeletor figure. The playability is great and this Skeletor is the perfect foe for any He-man figure.
This is a serious Skeletor hellbent on controlling the universe and an excellent figure that truly raises the Classics’ collection. Dark despot Skeletor was a presale figure from Super 7 and can only be found now on the secondary market. If you love He-man and the Masters of the Universe, you need to own this figure.
